Amazon's making you a Black Friday offer you can't refuse: If you covet anoutdated Kindle
If yesterday's news is your thing, then you'll want to go extra-extra-read-all-about-it on Amazon's breaking Kindle deal this shopping-frenzy Friday.
For less than one Benjamin Franklin — $89, to be exact — the price is right for you to become the lucky owner of a 3G-enabled e-reader, come Black Friday.
Granted, it's not the latest in Amazon's line of e-reader extraordinaires. Amazon might be affordable, but it's not cheap. And the highly lauded Kindle 3, released in August, is still holding steady at $189. As expected.
But its heavier, darker, slower predecessor, the Kindle 2, greets online shoppers on Friday with an extreme price slash — $100 below the cost of the Kindle 3.
This definitively makes the second-generation Kindle one of the most coveted gadgets within reach this holiday season. As long as technological advances aren't your bag.
You'll have to act quickly if you're going to score one, though. The deal is set to begin at 9 a.m. Pacific Standard Time (that's 11 a.m. here, folks), and there's no telling how many are available or for how long the deal will run.
Who needs the latest and greatest digital breakthroughs, when you can have overstock inventory at a fraction of the cost? That mindset is exactly what Amazon's banking on.
Will you take the bait?
