Blonde vs. Brunette
Second Lady Jill Biden bashes the Kardashians, but should she spear Britneyinstead?
You can't expect that a woman who holds a doctoral degree, spent three decades of her career educating children and still brings in her own paycheck as a professor — even while her husband does the vice president thing, the only second lady to do so — would be pleased as punch with American pop culture.
So Dr. Jill Biden's recently expressed disdain over Kim Kardashian and her family shouldn't surprise even the most devout Kardashianite.
Word on the web, according to Showbiz Spy, is that Biden thinks Kim and her clan are "the epitome of all that's wrong with America today." Biden also can't stand reality TV, and would remove those Kardashian kids from the air in a hot minute, if she could.
Sure, Kim's claims to fame include self-leaking her own sex tape and her former high-profile friendship with one of the world's most spoiled heiresses. And yeah, maybe the Kardashians are just as egregiously dramatic as they are disgustingly wealthy.
But if Kim and her kin are the worst thing to happen to us, we're cool with pooh-poohing Biden's apparent first-world problem.
We totally love you (and your hubs), Jill, but we can think of a few better people to stand in as scapegoats for the ills of our modern society — especially in a land where the follies of trainwrecks like Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan constitute merit-worthy entertainment.
What we're saying here is that there's The Kardashians, and then there's the Worse Than The Kardashians. And things can always get worse. Snooki with a side of The Situation, anyone?
Is Jill Biden right? Are Kim Kardashian and her kind all that's wrong with America today? Weigh in.
