Artful shopping, pooch parties, live music and starlight dancing usher in spring at CITYCENTRE
CITYCENTRE is a foodlover’s paradise, with 18 different restaurants ranging from steak and sushi to Tex-Mex and tempting treats, but eating well is just the beginning of an evening at the vibrant complex. Live music, dancing under the stars, artful shopping and even parties for pups highlight CITYCENTRE’s spring event calendar.
With so much to do and see, the biggest question is just where to start. Thankfully, we have plenty of ideas.
Sunday strolls lead directly to The Market at CITYCENTRE each week. Every Sunday from spring until November, the outdoor plaza becomes an artistic hot spot with local creatives showing off their work. The market runs from 4 to 7 p.m. and shoppers have the opportunity to get an up-close-and-personal look at everything from paintings to handmade items.
CITYCENTRE’s music scene is another weekly highlight and another reason to head to the shopping, dining and entertainment complex. Friday and Saturday nights become concert central in the plaza, with a varied schedule of live music from 7 to 10 p.m. Restaurants get in on the action too, hosting everything from bands to solo acts.
CITYCENTRE is not only a destination for people, but four-legged patrons are welcome too and the Doggy Party on the Plaza on April 21 promises a dog-gone good time for pets and their parents. Houston Pet Talk Magazine teams up with CITYCENTRE for the event from noon to 5 p.m. promoting rescue awareness and benefiting dog rescue groups. There will be vendor booths, contests, demonstrations, raffles, food and the second annual Doggy Party Rescue Parade.
Of course, dogs are welcome.
Spring is a beautiful time to be in the great outdoors, so why not soak up the sunshine and get going in The Conn’s Green 6.2 on April 28. The 10K race is a Chevron Houston Qualifying event, guaranteeing entry into the Aramco Houston Half Marathon and it takes runners right through CITYCENTRE and onto the lush tree-filled Fonn Villas and Frostwood subdivisions. There's also a 5K race option for those preferring a shorter distance.
If you’d rather get moving in a different way, Dancing Under the Stars meshes music and movement in a delightful setting. From 7 to 10 p.m. on the last Saturday of every month, the dancing event is popular, fun and free.
May brings an exciting slate of events, led by the Springboard South Music Festival May 4 through 6 at CITYCENTRE. The three-day bash features multiple bands on two stages playing a wide range of music. The free fest kicks off Friday May 4, from 5 to 11 p.m. continues Saturday, May 5 from noon to 11 p.m. and rolls right on through to Sunday, from noon to 6 p.m.
Please visit CITYCENTRE for more event information.
