1. Houston warehouse full of historic home supplies holds massive closing sale. The headquarters of what is arguably the greatest salvage project in all of Southeast Texas has shuttered, and on January 18, the warehouse opened to the public for the sale of a lifetime. Remaining items will be auctioned off in February, so stay tuned.

3. Running list of Houston restaurants open during the winter snowstorm. The vast majority of Houston restaurants were closed January 21 due to the winter storm. Still, a select group of restaurants remained open, and we rounded them up here.
4. 13 Houston restaurants score James Beard Award semifinalist nominations. Houston is well represented on the list of semifinalists for the 2025 James Beard Awards. Overall, Houston received seven nominations in national categories and six nominations for Best Chef: Texas.
5. Significant snowfall and hard freeze predicted for Houston. The Bayou City is no stranger to chilly temperatures, but actual snowfall is pretty rare, but that's exactly what was on tap earlier this week.
