The first-ever collaboration between Refinery29 and Simon will bring Refinery29 into the physical world of retail. These fashion and retail groups have joined forces to create custom fashion activations that merge the digital experience of online, mobile and social elements and physical in-person experiences to maximize the social aspects of both with The Shopping Block.
The Shopping Block will make a stop at Houston Premium Outlets to offer consumer touch-points around fashion, discovery and community. The event design, inspired by modernist artists such as Donald Judd and Dan Flavin, as well as the art and architecture of Marfa, will provide a variety of features that appeal to the millennial audience.
Refinery29 and Simon will invite indie boutiques to participate along with national retail brands. Attendees will receive curated style guides that highlight fall trends. Shoppers can participate in a digital sweepstakes for a chance to win retail prizes valued at a minimum of $1,000. Makeup artists will be on-hand at pop-up beauty bars to give shoppers mini makeovers and share the latest beauty tips from the experts. Guests will have an opportunity to personalize tote bags.
