Express Children's Theatre presents Hilltop Festival for Children

Express Theatre’s Hilltop Festival for Children 2018 will showcase the following productions:

  • July 17: Freedom Train: A mother and son escape a plantation in Texas and journey to freedom along the Underground Railroad to Mexico in 1844.  Based on actual events in Texas history. Written by Celeste Bedford Walker and Tim Fried-Fiori.
  • July 18: The New Clown in Town: The new resident of clown town happens to be in a wheelchair, but is he funny enough to get into clown college? Written by disability rights activist and author, Mike Ervin. 
  • July 19: Let's Make a Play Today: Taking suggestions from the audience, the Express Improv Players create a spontaneous children’s play with costumes, props, and spur-of-the-moment songs. Designed to help children directly experience the power of collaboration and creativity.
  • July 20: The Adventures of Santa Claus: Based on the classic by L. Frank Baum about a boy named Santa who discovers his calling to bring Joy to the World. An original holiday musical written by Tim Fried-Fiori.
