To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the legendary Bum Phillips’ first year as head coach of the Houston Oilers, Dan Pastorini Charity will present an exclusive, one-night-only performance of Bum Phillips All-American Opera. Proceeds from ticket sales will support the Bum Phillips Retreat, which hosts many events and activities including Heart Sign Camp, a summer camp for deaf children.
The opera premiered in New York at the Ellen Stewart Theater and chronicles the ‘70s icon O.A. “Bum” Phillips’ time as head coach of the Houston Oilers, utilizing the autobiography, Bum Phillips: Cowboy, Coach, Christian.
The performance will be preceded by a cocktail reception and followed by a live on-stage Q&A with notable “Luv Ya Blue” players such as Earl Campbell, Robert Brazile, Curley Culp, Elvin Bethea, Carl Mauck, Billy “White Shoes” Johnson, Mike Barber, Kenny Burrough Andy Dorris, Greg Bingham, Vernon Perry and Mike Renfro.
