Brazos Bookstore will be hosting author and illustrator Marcus Emerson for a book release party celebrating the launch of Ben Braver and the Incredible Exploding Kid, the second in a hysterical hybrid comic and prose middle grade series about an ordinary boy who gets sent to an extraordinary school for kids with superpowers. The event will feature a reading and signing, as well as a drawing demo so attendees can learn how to make their own comic book style characters.

Emerson - an avid video game, comic, and cartoon fan - is also the creator of the popular self-published Diary of a 6th Grade Ninja series. He lives in Iowa with his wife and five children and is in Houston for his national book launch tour.
