Blueprint Houston hosts a cocktail reception honoring Guy Hagstette for his significant contributions to planning in Houston. The event, titled We Built This City, will benefit Blueprint Houston and its mission of assuring the creation of a General Plan for the City of Houston based on citizens' vision, values and goals.

Guy Hagstette has focused much of his professional career on downtown Houston. He has been the go-to person for many groups to get things done, playing many roles: Architect, urban designer, volunteer, management district executive, political advisor and investor. His name is synonymous with such projects as Sesquicentennial Park, Buffalo Bayou Park, Discovery Green and the Downtown Development Framework.

The event will include an architectural exhibition that highlights Hagstette's projects as well as other noteworthy projects that have contributed to the transformation of downtown over the past 25 years. The Doubletree Hotel will offer hors d'oeuvres and libations, alongside musical entertainment by Harry Sheppard.

The exhibition is on view from June 12 through July 5. Admission to the exhibition is free.
