A Houston quickie
LeAnn Rimes gets up close and personal with guests at private party at Stella Sola
Oh, to have been on 93Q's limited invitation list for the intimate evening with country singer LeAnn Rimes — last night at Stella Sola.
Close to 100 lucky winners (there actually was a contest for the invites) joined Rimes and 93Q deejays in the second-floor party room of the Heights area restaurant for an hour of song and conversation that touched on some of the, shall we say, touchy aspects of her personal life. All was in good taste, we are told, and the music was phenomenal.
Rimes sang seated on a bar stool, her only accompaniment a guitarist. Anyone who understands the quality of this woman's voice knows how incredible this night must have been.
Stella Sola partner Bill Floyd reports that Rimes sang about eight songs and that he (personally not a country music fan) was "blown away."
The restaurant provided wine and passed apps for the group while 93Q flew the star in just for the concert. Almost before the applause died down, Rimes was on a jet back to LA.
This was an even more intimate setting than Rimes' appearance here in 2009 for the the Qatar Airways Houston launch. Close to 400 black-tie-attired guests thought that their night with Rimes on stage in the Grand Foyer of Wortham Theater Center was special. Clearly, this one was even more so.
