The Scoop: High energy, fab fashion, and saucy spirits set the mood on February 26 at Saks Fifth Avenue as the Latin Women’s Initiative kicked off its 2025 Annual Fashion Show and Luncheon with a stylish soirée. Celebrating 30 years of the Latin Women’s Initiative and 23 years of its signature luncheon, the event drew a chatty crowd of more than 130 supporters ready to toast the pearl anniversary and milestone.

Luncheon chairs April Ramirez Fabre and Julie Garza, along with honorees Lisset Garza and Naimeh Salem, greeted guests as president Jovanny Orellana took a moment to highlight the organization’s impact on women and children in the Latin community. Saks Fifth Avenue execs Heidi Turney and Hasina Starks cheered on the mission, adding an extra touch of glam to the afternoon.

Fueling anticipation for the May 2 luncheon, organizers announced that Argentine-born Puerto Rican actor and TV host Julián Gil will emcee the anticipated gathering of 1,000 guests. Applause erupted as this year’s beneficiaries were revealed: Justice Forward, Rebuilding Together Houston, Segundo Barrio, El Centro de Corazón, and Naba Shoes for Kids.
