Tilman Fertitta's seafood restaurant sets sail with new Sugar Land store

    Eric Sandler
    Aug 25, 2026 | 9:45 am

A prominent Houston seafood restaurant has arrived in Sugar Land. Landry’s Seafood House is now open daily for lunch and dinner.

Located near the intersection of the Southwest Freeway and the Grand Parkway (19740 Southwest Freeway), the new Landry’s is near destinations such as Sugar Land Town Square and Smart Financial Centre and joins other Houston-area locations in The Woodlands, Kemah, and Galveston. It features an updated design that nods to the French Quarter with brass details and dark green tones.

Those Cajun/Creole touches continue in the menu. Meals begin with dishes such as gumbo, fried alligator, crawfish bread, seafood-stuffed jalapenos, and “Oyster Bar Trash,” which is blackened shrimp and crab meat over white rice with lemon butter.

From there, diners have a range of options. Go lighter with a sandwich such as a shrimp po’ boy, fish sandwich, seafood tacos, or a smash burger. Six whole fish options — including salmon, catfish, redfish, and snapper — are available either broiled or pan seared with optional toppings. Other entrees choices include a sirloin steak, fish and chips made with a St. Arnold’s beer batter, fried seafood, and fish Pontchartrain — broiled tilapia topped with mushrooms, lump crab, and white wine cream sauce. Those looking to splurge may opt for an eight-ounce filet mignon or lobster tail.

The restaurant includes an expansive bar area that will host happy hour from 3-6:30 pm Monday through Friday. Outside, families will an on-site playground that’s unique to this location, according to press materials.

“We’re proud to bring our Cajun and French Quarter roots to Sugar Land with a vibrant atmosphere and refreshed dining experience,” Shah Ghani, COO of Landry’s Seafood House, said in a statement. “This new location represents everything guests love about Landry’s, and we are excited to introduce the warm hospitality, fresh flavors, and memorable dining experiences that our Landry’s is known for to the community.”

Landry’s Seafood House opens daily at 11 am.

2 Michelin-starred Texas barbecue joints fire up monthlong London pop-up

Even in Austin's home scene, these restaurants are considered the cream of the crop. Abroad, this is an extra special treat.

Two of Texas' best barbecue joints are are firing up their smokers in London. Austin-based InterStellar and La Barbecue are in residence for one month a London hotel called The Ned.

Service started on September 4, and guests have until October 4 to see what great barbecue tastes like on the other side of the pond.

Each restaurant sent its best representative: John Bates of InterStellar BBQ and Ali Clem of La Barbecue, the two pitmasters who led them to barbecue's first Michelin stars. Both are somewhat traditional with a few signature twists, making them a good match beyond their similar levels of prestige.

Proteins on the menu include pork ribs, pulled lamb shoulder, chopped cheese sausage, and InterStellar's famous peach tea pork belly burnt ends. Brisket will be available as an add-on. The team is also cooking up sides and pairing the bites with cocktails made for the occasion by Jack Daniels.

The exclusive sharing tray is available for $75 per person, with a minimum of two people per reservation ($150). A 14.5 percent service gratuity is also being added.

Many barbecue fans understand that a smoker plays a huge part in the final product, and being away from home could dramatically change the cooking process. An Instagram post explains (and seems to lightly promote) that the pitmasters are using Ironbrand smokers, which are custom-made in the United Kingdom.

The residency is happening at Electric Bar & Diner, The Ned's all-day American diner. The 248-room hotel is located in Poultry, on the north side of the River Thames near St. Paul's Cathedral. It is also very near to the Bank Station, a connecting station for four rail routes, making it easy to get to from many parts of London.

Booking is already going fast, so guests who want to snag a space should commit soon.
