Less than a year since its debut, Austin favorite Olamaie is making waves in the foodie world several times over. Its latest accolade? A spot on Eater's list of the 21 Best New Restaurants in America. In fact, the restaurant from chef duo Michael Fojtasek and Grae Nonas shines as the only Texas spot on the list.

"Crudo mania continues unabated across the land, but I wager that no version has ever married raw fish to the Southern culinary canon quite like the one at Olamaie," writes Eater contributor Bill Addison. We couldn’t agree more.

Addison continues by praising Olamaie's "garden Southern" cuisine, taking time to dote on popular — and delicious — dishes like the North Carolina yellowfin tuna and the Hoppin’ John. "Fojtasek and Nonas modernize Southern cooking with haute technique and artistic plating, yet they never lose touch with the essence. If the cooking leans vanguard, the setting in a 1930s white clapboard house and the smiling staff couldn’t feel more timeless in their graciousness," Addison writes.

Olamaie isn’t new to major culinary recognition. Fojtasek and Nonas were named among Food & Wine’s Best New Chefs earlier this year. The eatery also snagged Restaurant of the Year and Rising Star Chef of the Year wins at the CultureMap Tastemaker Awards.

Needless to say, Olamaie is a foodie force to be reckoned with. Check out more menu items, and try to keep your mouth from watering. We dare you.
