Downtown taco and tequila joint creates perfect Instagram spot for Valentine's
Looking for the perfect place for a cute couple selfie this Valentine's Day? El Big Bad can help.
The downtown tequila and taco restaurant commissioned artist Kevin Hernandez to create a mashup that blends Austin's famous "I love you so much" mural by artist Amy Cook and San Antonio artist Luiz Muñoz's cheeky response that reads "I love tacos so much." The result is a wall that reads "I love you and tacos so much."
The new painting constitutes Houston's entry into the San Antonio-Austin mural skirmish. "I love how Texans can have a rivalry between cities while at the same time branding together as Texans,” said Hernandez in a statement.
Hernandez is no stranger to El Big Bad. His 56-foot long mural that pays tribute to Mayahuel, the goddess of Tequila, runs the full length of the restaurant's downstairs bar.
That the mural also happens to promote El Big Bad's Valentine's promotion — all-you-can-eat tacos for two (choice of beef, chicken, or pastor) and two margaritas for $40 — just makes it good timing. Considering Valentine's Day dinners typically cost more than $40 per person, it's also a good deal, and that's always sexy.
