The ninth annual Dallas International Film Festival opened on Thursday with a screening of I'll See You in My Dreams, starring Blythe Danner, Martin Starr and Sam Elliott. Danner plays a retiree who's shaken out of her nice but bland routine by two men — one an aimless young pool cleaner, the other a charming and dashing fellow retiree.
Danner and writer/director Brett Haley sat down with CultureMap to talk about what the film meant to them and why Starr and Elliott were the right people to star opposite Danner. Check out the video above for insight into a film that will make you laugh, cry and have you in awe at how the 72-year-old Danner still looks so great.
The film opens nationally on May 15.
