By any measure, CBD is a booming industry, with its benefits said to include help with anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, and sleep. CBD is so wildly popular that sales may reach $20 billion by 2024, according to a recent study.
Capitalizing on that buzzy trend is The Apothecary, which is now open in Montrose at 1208 W Gray St. Shoppers can expect an in-house product line that includes oils, tinctures, capsules, edibles, and bath and beauty products.
Progressive pet parents can also look for a line of products for animals, called (wait for it), The Apawthecary. In addition to its own products, the store will carry a carefully curated offering of CBD products from the beauty, health, and wellness categories such as Lazarus Naturals, Honest Paws, Brothers Apothecary, and Dr. Kerklaan Therapeutics.
The hemp oil used at The Apothecary is said to be free of pesticides, herbicides, and chemical fertilizers and third party lab tested to ensure its safety and quality, according to a release.
So what makes this new spot different than the average CBD shop? The Apothecary bills itself as a “wellness boutique.” Three rooms are dedicated to different specialties: One room is dedicated to wellness, the back room is dedicated to beauty and cosmetic products, and the third is dedicated to pet products.
“The Apothecary is a new look for the industry. It was conceived because of our strong desire to change the stigma around CBD by creating a high-end boutique,” said CEO and founder Samantha Miller, in a statement.
“The opening of this store is significant to me because there was a need in my community to create a space that was warm and inviting; where people of all ages who are new to CBD products and those that are familiar with the many benefits it offers could find the best CBD products procured from top licensed manufacturers,” Miller continued. “When I conceptualized this store, I had everyone from busy moms to young professionals to grandparents in mind.”
