It's the most wonderful time of the year and there are plenty of alluring events to share with someone special. Here are the top 10 holiday season date ideas for Houstonians:
Houston Zoo Lights
Cozy up as you stroll through the Houston Zoo and get ready to be dazzled by two million twinkling LED lights. Keep an eye out for active zoo animals, and for Candy, the interactive talking faux zebra. Houston Zoo Lights, now in its sixth year, runs through January 14.
Ice skating at Discovery Green
You may not be able to make it to Rockefeller Center this year, but you can still ice skate while looking at the high-rises of downtown Houston at The Ice at Discovery Green. There's music and lights to help put you in the holiday mood. And there's nothing more romantic than trying to help each other not face plant on the ice. After you're done skating, you can see the latest art installation on Discovery Green, "Hello, Trees! A Walking Serenade." The ice rink is open until January 21.
Holidays at Moody Gardens
If you're going to take your date out for drinks, try Shivers Ice Bar at the Holidays of Moody Gardens event in Galveston for some fun holiday flair. Moody Gardens also has an entire course of ice carvings including an ice slide, Festival of Lights, ice skating, 3-D holiday films, and more. Holidays at Moody Gardens run to January 7.
