Recently relocated to a new location, the River Oaks location of Ruggles Green is the brilliant brain child of a couple eco-minded guys — chef Bruce Molzan and owner Federico Marques — who wanted to create Houston’s first certified green restaurant. What does "green" entail? Organic, all-natural, hormone-free, and preservative-free ingredients, as well as recycling, conservation, and the use of sustainable products. The menu is a mix of appetizing light-ish fare, with a slew of salads, sandwiches, burgers, fish tacos, pizza and past. Those who can resist the diet-busting dessert menu will enjoy a meal that's easy on the wallet, the planet, and the scale. The veggie burger might be the best in town.
