The Cafe Express at the MFAH has closed. It has been replaced by a new casual eatery called MFACafe.
Like a complex math problem that comes to a perfect solution, your can solve the issue of meeting a variety of needs (gourmet food, fast service, upscale atmosphere, kid-friendly environment) when you dine at Café Express. This brainchild of superstar chef Robert Del Grande offers the convenience of counter service and a voluminous menu that features delicious dishes like grilled Mediterranean salmon with roasted artichoke hearts. Simple fare like handmade sandwiches, burgers, soups, pastas and generous salads are also served. This location in the basement of the Museum of Fine Arts is a great gathering spot before or after viewing the city's invaluable art treasures. And the James Turrell light tunnel is only a few yards away. You can't beat that view.
Best bet: order box lunches and then head over to the museum’s sculpture garden across the street for a little picnic amid the masterpieces.
