Johnny Goyen Park

Few people know about or take advantage of this park along Buffalo Bayou. It’s a calm, relaxing spot and most of the time you’ll probably have it almost all to yourself. The Houston Parks and Recreation Department operates Johnny Goyen Park, but it is really through the efforts of volunteers and the aid of donations that this sanctuary was created to be a sustainable refuge and habitat for birds. Bring your binoculars if you want to observe some winged wildlife that has no idea that they're in the middle of an urban center.
