Doc's Bar and Grill has become the go-to patio for Austinites looking to spend a comfortable afternoon or evening doing a little people-watching. The air-conditioned patio is perfect for catching a game and an ice-cold beer with friends, and the menu is bar-friendly and fried-food heavy. You'll want to try the appetizers, which range from fried pickles to hot wings and quesadillas. For a meal, we recommend one of the chicken sandwiches, such as the Lone Star or the Buffalo, which don't skimp on the trimmings. The entree platters are big enough for the heartiest appetite and feature Mexican egg rolls, fish tacos, and the unbelievable chicken fried avocado. We weren't kidding about the fried food, and neither is Doc's.
