Ensemble Theatre National Stage Reading: For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf

The Ensemble Theatre Houston will participate in the Fourth Annual National Stage Reading organized by Project1voice, a national organization whose mission is to strengthen and promote African American theater and playwrights. This year's reading, For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf, is by Ntozake Shange.

Several participating organizations will also be using the reading as a platform to promote wellness for women and girls in the African American community. AIDS Foundation Houston will provide testing before and after the reading. The Houston Area Urban League will distribute information about affordable care enrollment. Dr. Marketa Wills and Josephine Tervalon will provide information on mental health and emotional trauma.
