MD Anderson Children’s Cancer Hospital and The Galleria presents 8th Annual Back-to-School Bash
Celebrate another school year with MD Anderson Children’s Cancer Hospital and The Galleria at their eighth annual back-to-school bash.
At noon, the Too Cool to Smoke Puppet Show, performed by MD Anderson’s puppeteers, educates and encourages children not to smoke as an important cancer prevention message. The 15-minute puppet show, appropriate for children K-4th grade, addresses the dangers of tobacco use, as well as e-cigarettes and vaping. Children in attendance will receive Promise cards which serves as a commitment to not smoke and to make healthy lifestyle choices. Adults will receive information cards on the dangers of tobacco products, and the industry lures meant to attract children and teens.
At 1 pm, children, including pediatric cancer patients from the hospital’s on-site K-12 accredited school, their siblings and MD Anderson caregivers will highlight this season’s most popular back-to-school trends. The show will feature looks from The Galleria’s hottest retailers.
