Laura Rathe Fine Art will host "Currents Beneath the Surface," a duo exhibition featuring Austin-based artists, Caprice Pierruci and Sydney Yeager. Both influenced by nature and geological formations, the artworks of Pierruci and Yeager deconstruct form to create fluid and fragmented movement.

Through sinuous repetition, texture, progressive rhythms, and linear abstractions Pierruci’s sculptures create a visual language that discusses eternity and time. The undulating rhythms in the forms speak of mortality and the huge expanses of time that lead to one particular moment of beauty.

In the paintings of Yeager there is a relentless balance between control and chaos. Her mark makings reveal a fluid gesture and the unique qualities of her selected medium, exploring oil paints sensuous texture and viscosity on a linen canvas. The thick interwoven brushstrokes come together and yet, stand-alone creating a continuity that is constantly threatened with disintegration.

Following the opening reception, the exhibit will be on display until August 10.
