Houston Symphony presents Profokiev's Romeo & Juliet

No rendition of Shakespeare’s tragedy captures the passion and depth of feeling - or the chasm between wide-eyed love and searing hate - more powerfully than Prokofiev’s. Korngold practically invented the lush, and his Cello Concerto began as on-screen music for the 1946 film Deception. Houston Symphony Principal Cellist Brinton Averil Smith draws out every ounce of its warmth, and shares music of French composer Darius Milhaud.
