The Houston Choral Society will begin its 28th concert season with an exploration of the African American Spiritual, performing with the Prairie View A&M Concert Chorale. Composer Adolphus Hailstork will be on hand fo a performance of his “Shout for Joy.”
The theme of Joy will continue with songs of praise by Rachmaninoff, Brahms, and Lauridsen, and will conclude with “Pilgrims’ Hymn” by Stephen Paulus from the opera The Three Hermits.
