Latin Beats explores the breathtaking music of Brazil, Cuba, Venezuela and the Andes through new music, dance and fine art. Guests include dancers from Houston Ballet and Houston Contemporary Dance Company, Venezuelan virtuoso violinist Eddy Marcano and pianist Baden Goyo and Spanish-born percussionist Jesús Pacheco. The production will feature music by Leo Brouwer, Heitor Villa-Lobos, Javier Farias, Aldemaro Romero, Arthur Gottschalk and more.
A newly commissioned canvas by Brazilian-born artist Tony Paraná provides a backdrop to this multicultural program.
