Big Dallas flea market sets its sights on Houston with shopping extravaganza
Shopping fans rejoice! One of Dallas' largest and most popular biannual shopping events, Flea Style — formerly known as The Dallas Flea — is expanding to Houston next year with two huge events featuring vintage and handcrafted goods from more than 75 talented local artisans.
Founded six years ago by interior designer Brittany Cobb as a one-time holiday pop-up shop, Flea Style has transformed into a biannual shopping extravaganza that boasts fashion, furniture, art, home decor, clothing, jewelry, children's items, food and more. The massive pop-up shop is known for attracting more than 10,000 visitors to its Dallas events and has become one of the region's premier shopping destinations for one-of-a-kind goods.
Flea Style announced that the first Houston event will take place on May 7, 2016, from 9 am to 4 pm at Silver Street Studios. The 20,000-square-foot space will be filled with more than 75 local vendors selling unique goods and will feature live music, food trucks and a bar. Tickets to the event are $5 — children 12 and under are welcome for free — and the first 100 shoppers will receive a free gift bag.
The second local Flea Style event scheduled for 2016 has yet to be announced.
In addition to expanding the massive shopping pop-ups to Houston, Flea Style will continue to host the biannual events in Dallas with the first market of the year taking place on March 12 at Fair Park's 100,000-square-foot Automotive building.
