Fall Fashion Preview
Saks teams with Empire star to examine the future of fashion and fall's hottest trends
Get ready for fall fashion with the bohemian life, richly textured items, urban couture and the co-star of TV's breakout hit Empire. These are hot upcoming trends, according to the Saks Fifth Avenue Fall 2015 Magalog, the luxury retailer's magazine-y update on the traditional retail catalogue.
The hefty 272-page issue includes cover stories on Oscar de la Renta designer Peter Copping and Empire's Trai Byers, who explains how to dress while America's watching. (Byers plays the bipolar character Andre Lyon, who's scheming to take over his family's business in the smash-hit series.) Saks is featuring a special collection inspired by the Fox drama, with fine jewelry from Alexis Bittar, women's ready-to-wear from Cushnie et Ochs, men's and women's footwear from Jimmy Choo and handbags and accessories from MCM.
The special collection, in advance of the series' Sept. 23 second season premiere, is available at Saks and saks.com, in addition to each individual brand's online store and retail location.
The magalog is available September 8 in print form or on Instagram (@saks and @saks_mens), but we got a sneak peek of what's in store.
Key trends/looks for women
La Bohème

Extreme Texture
Fall fashion takes on a new dimension with artistic furs and faux shearlings in voluminous shapes, feathery fabrications and wildly exaggerated cable knits. Think cozy.
Hot Items
The cape, The poncho, shearling outerwear, The long gilet, The parka, The turtleneck, and flared trousers and denim.
Key Accessories
Chunky-heel shoes, relaxed boots, Long-strap saddle bags, soft and unstructured Bags, architectural jewelry, mix & match ear statements and fringed accessories.
Key trends/looks for men
Country Gentleman
This menswear look updates classic styles with soft, fine tailoring in subtle hints of rustic charm and Bohemian swagger. Key colors are natural, led by forest greens and the deep reds of cordovan leather.
City Shadows
The day-into-night look is clean and crisp, with moody grays, monocromatic shades or deep jewel tones. Lustrous fabrics like mohair subtly sparkle with a glimmer of iridiscent sheen.
Urban Couture
High-contrast graphics and geometrics appear on everything from sneakers to outerwear to everyday street style. Irreverent global prints lend an international edge.
Hot Items
Flight jackets, tailored joggers, geometric sweaters, distressed denim, shearling jackets and trim, burgundy blazers and shades of grey tailoring.
Key Accessories
Luxe caps, fedoras, backpacks, slim portfolios, mountain boots, dressy sneakers and mod boots.
