Texas Children's Celebration
800 moms, dads and kids celebrate Texas Children's 60th anniversary at Arboretum
What:Texas Children's Hospital Ambassadors' annual Family Fun Day.
Where: The Houston Arboretum and Nature Center.
The 411: More than 800 Ambassadors and family members cavorted, climbed and galloped through the arboretum on the afternoon outing that celebrated Texas Children's 60th anniversary. Leigh Ann and John Raymond, accompanied by their three youngsters, chaired the lively birthday celebration. A Fare Extraordinaire delivered the energy-boosting party fare, including wrapped sandwiches, hamburgers, waffle fries, a cupcake tower and custom candy art. For the thirsty, there was a lemonade stand.
The family fun included a petting zoo, rock climbing wall, trackless train, origami folding, face painters, interactive DJ’s and more. And because a birthday party wouldn’t be complete without gifts, each family brought books that were donated to the hospital’s five community based practices, known as Project Medical Homes.
Who: Tabitha, Will, Mackenzie and Matthew Rice; Hope, Paulie, Camila and Brooks Young; Kusum, Krishan and Cody Patel; William, Drexel, David and Claudia Walkup; and Stacey and Grace Cook.
