Feminine with an edge: Midriff-baring outfit with classic jewelry is a style-winning combo
Jodie Eisenhardt loves to mix and match styles, combining fast fashion looks with classic pieces. For a party celebrating the opening of the new Lucchese store in Highland Village, the publicist/food writer/animal welfare advocate paired a criss-cross black sleeveless top she brought at Topshop last spring with a black midi-skirt recently purchased from Banana Republic. The combo features just a bit of exposed midriff in a look that is right on trend now.
Her green Banana Republic clutch really pops against the all-black ensemble, which includes black pumps by Dolce Vita. And as a nod to the western theme of the store opening, she wore iconic Hermès horse head bracelets and John Hardy silver chandelier earrings.
"I would describe my style as decidedly feminine but with an edge," Eisenhardt said by email. "I’m known for wearing dresses. I love Alice+Olivia, DVF and Tracy Reese but I also love to mix in bargain pieces (especially for trends) from Gap, Banana and Topshop.
"Being 5’1, I pray that platforms never go completely out of style because I’ll likely wear them anyway!"
Eisenhardt, the co-owner of Two Chicks Communications, is currently working on a cookbook with Erin Hicks featuring soup recipes from Houston’s best restaurants.
