What's In Fashion
Among the catty fashion crowd, a real dog stands out with Hunger Games designers
NEW YORK— President Harry Truman once famously said, "You want a friend in Washington? Get a dog." In the notoriously catty New York fashion world, the same axiom applies.
So it's heartwarming to see Nicholas K co-designer Christopher Kunz take his runway bow with his best friend, Jake, looking dapper in a rope leash from Found My Animal. The dog pretty much goes everywhere with the designer, who has said that the one habit that has made his life better is taking the boxer to the dog park for his daily run.
The fall 2014 collection has an edgy end-of-the-world vibe for women and men, with cape-like jackets in grays and other neutral shades piled upon shirts and low-cut pants, some dipping dangerously low at the hips.
Jennifer Lawrence wore a Nicholas K jacket in the Hunger Games movie, Catching Fire, and this collection offers plenty for the next installment, Mockingjay, now being filmed. It's just the right look for the tough ass warrior princess who's out to save the world.
