When publicist Kim Padgett signed her Westie, Cassidy Marie, on as a celebrity pooch for the Citizens for Animal Protection's Celebrity Paws Gala, she created a fashion conundrum. Afterall, what's a precious pup supposed to wear for her catwalk debut at a black-tie gala?
Well, when in the spotlight, nothing less than designer threads will do. So Kim reached out to her friend Houston fashion designer Chloe Dao for help. But Chloe was in the midst of putting her show together for Fashion Houston. No time for canine clothes.
But with lots of cajoling and a few design suggestions, Chloe came up with the zebra-striped halter gown for Kim and a matching frock for little Cassidy Marie. They were playful standouts in the mix of animal owners and black-tie fashionistas.
We can't confirm that the outfits added to Kim and Cassidy Marie's charms, but the final result was that the West Highland Terrier won top honors as Celebrity Pet of the Year. We think a "Thank you, Chloe Dao" is in order.
