Change is coming to the River Oaks tennis tournament luncheon. Change in terms of fashion that is. What used to be thought of as an event strictly for Sunday best suits and formal hats is fast giving way to a more casual approach. After all, this is a poolside luncheon celebrating a tennis tournament. Exemplifying just how far that trend is developing is Kelli Blanton, who stepped out in resort attire for last week's outdoor schmooze.
She found this embroidered, thigh-high sheath at Calypso St. Barth in New York and accessorized it with turquoise and coral jewelry from Packard's on the Plaza in Santa Fe. Her turquoise earrings were by the popular designer Ippolita, purchased at Neiman Marcus.
The ultimate accessory for this spring-forward outfit was her handbag, embroidered in beading and sequins. She bought it at Tootsies especially for this outfit and the tennis luncheon. Her Michael Kors espadrilles are from Neiman's.
