Who wouldn't put his or her best fashion foot forward for Bastille Day, that celebration of all things trés French and trés chic? Well, that's what we might have thought, but au contraire. The crowd that turned out for the afternoon salute Francais at Philippe Restaurant + Lounge was very much on the casual side.
Jeans ruled, T-shirts made an appearance and only a few "dressed" for the occasion. C'est domage.
One who stood out was the dapper Joe Edd Nelson in double-breasted suit from R. Rose Clothier, a carefully coordinated shirt and pocket square from Paul Fredrick and a matching bowtie from Beau Ties Ltd. of Vermont.
