When it's your birthday and the party is in the couture salon of Neiman Marcus, you can pretty much dictate the fashion code. Case in point, the fashionable Jennifer Brown who stepped out in a, shall we say cocktail, dress from Badgley Mischka (purchased at Nordstrom) for her b'day luncheon.
"I hesitated a little, thinking it might be a little too dressy for a lunch party, but I figured it was my birthday and what birthday girl doesn't want to sparkle?" she said.
The Colorado native arrived in Texas some years back working as a mechanical engineer at a gas plant in Mont Belvieu. Today, the stay-at-home mom has just celebrated her 10th wedding anniversary. And what a sweet hubby. He gifted her with a stunning necklace from Zadok Jewelers for her birthday and she wore the diamonds to the luncheon along with earrings and a bracelet that he had given her on other special occasions.
Jennifer had intended to wear Christian Louboutin pumps with her party dress. But when she showed them to her husband a few days before, he was terribly disappointed. He had bought the same pair for her at Saks Fifth Avenue. In true Gift of the Magi form, both returned the shoes the next day. So on the big day — no Louboutins. Instead, she wore a pair of nude Jimmy Choos that she had had for some time.

Jennifer Brown found the perfect dress for Houston's fall — a belted, one-shouldered BCBG in patterns of brown, beige and gold. With our town's steamy autumn weather, high style calls for seasonal colors in light fabrics and, how cool in this case, an open shoulder. Jennifer chose black lace-up Jimmy Choo's to complete the hot look for fall. (Actually, she says that her husband picked out the shoes for her.) In the ultimate nod to the season, she dressed her nails in a midnight blue polish named Dancing in the Dark. She was spotted at the Fendi luncheon kicking-off the Una Notte in Italia benefit festivities.
