As with most of the women attending CultureMap's Fashion on Sale VIP party, dressing stylishly was at the forefront of Carrie Carson's thinking as she went to her closet for the Friday night outing that began at the event at West Ave and moved on to a friend's birthday dinner later in the evening.
Her first choice from the home racks was a Laundry by Shelli Segal dress patterned in black, white and pale turquoise. "It was recent purchase at Tootsies that I hope will transition nicely into summer," she explained via e-mail. She kept the look winter-appropriate for this early January date with black accessories and tights.
Her black leather jacket was a find at Lola G on Persa while her tights were from Nordstrom. The black leather booties were by Giuseppe Zanotti and her black leather clutch with gold zipper embellishments by Laura Merkin.
Carrie, who works in banking with a focus on energy, says she attended the event to shop and to support her local designer friends and she has a bunch who participated in Fashion on Sale. Among them — Mary Nichols handbags, Cara Crafton with The Do Bar, Donae and Rob Chramosta of The Vintage Contessa and Times Past, Aries Milan of Coquette, CrOp's David Peck, Edward Sanchez of Edward Sanchez Cosmetics, Misti Pace-Krahl closet design and Michael Mandola with Rent the Runway.
