While most of the Fourth of July celebrants at River Oaks Country Club were decked out in their preppy/summer frock best, Annie Amante stood out for her Bohemian chic attitude with a touch of patriotism.
She wore a cotton lace, off-the-shoulder top by Jens Pirate Booty and "beatnik" '60s style jeans by Current Elliott, both finds at Katia Boutique. The vintage Ralph Lauren American flag silk scarf was a purchase at Tootsies back in the '80s. Her taupe suede/fishnet wedges with ribbon ankle ties were Jimmy Choo, found at Saks Fifth Avenue.
"I love anything and everything Bohemian," Annie e-mailed. "So putting these retro jeans with the breezy feminine top and shoes got me feelin' groovy for my favorite day of the year. The Ralph Lauren scarf is a prized possession; no matter where I am or what I'm doing, I wear it loud and proud every year on the 4th of July."
