You see all kinds of dressing at the Houston Ballet Nutcracker Market — everything from jeans and T-shirts to designer suits and Louboutin pumps (really). But it takes a style master to assemble just the right mix of shopping chic, something tasteful yet suitable for walking through the forests of tempting holiday offerings.
We think Kelly Matula did just that in her stylish leather jacket from Nordstrom, her Ann Taylor knit top, Gap jeans and boots from Zappos. We spotted her weighted down with shopping bags as she made a load of purchases in advance of the market's Saks Fifth Avenue luncheon and fashion show. She selected her outfit with comfort — for shopping — and style — for the second part of her outing.
An understated sense of style comes naturally to Kelly, who recently retired as an interior designer working on corporate projects for Gensler.
