When law student/benefit organizer Ashley Foret began searching about for something to wear to the Bayou City Art Festival's "Sunday in the Art" VIP party, she headed to Coquette Boutique & Bistro.
'Houston is hot and I knew it was going to be hot this weekend," she said. "I like airy and breezy. I needed something cool, appropriate for the party but flowy and comfortable." She settled on this spaghetti-strapped tiered dress that offered plenty of room for cooling breezes. She decided against the stifling Victorian-era costuming that a number of guests favored. Smart girl!
Her necklace was also a find at Coquette and her golden handbag was a gift. Her wide-brimmed hat began as a simple Ralph Lauren chapeau. But a group of girlfriends held a hat-decorating party at Coquette and as Ashley says, "we got a little crazy with the hot glue guns and feathers." Actually, the hat is beautifully graced with silk flowers.
When not working on the Rose Ribbon Foundation spring dinner or helping Dikembe Mutombo raise funds for his charitable foundation, Ashley is hitting the books for her studies at the University of Houston Law Center.
