To catch a photographer's eye at the Houston Chronicle Best Dressed luncheon is no easy task considering the number of women who step out in the absolute best from their closets. But it was a slam dunk for young mom/young professional Veronica Pullicino.
Her block print dress in pink and tomato red caught our eye. She found the dress by A.L.C. at Neiman Marcus. Due to the bold colors, she opted for simple accessories — a Valentino rock stud clutch from the Valentino shop in the Galleria and her YSL shoes from Net-a-Porter.com.
This native Houstonian is a mother of two and works as creative director at The Company of Others.
For her first visit to Milan Fashion Week, Houston fashion blogger Carrie Colbert put a lot of thought into what she would wear. Since she was stopping by shoewear designer Giuseppe Zanotti's fall presentation, it was a given that she would build her ensemble around a pair of metal pailletes metallic leather sandals he created. (Colbert and Zanotti became friends when he visited the Saks Fifth Avenue Galleria store a couple of years ago.)
She picked a magenta and pink ombre Burberry Prorsum trench coat, which she had purchased a few years ago at the Burberry London flagship store, and paired it with a similarly shaded Alexander McQueen dress that friend, stylist Joshua Johnson, found for her at Tootsies.
She accessorized the outfit with a pair of red Thierry Lasry sunglasses and Herve Van Der Straeten earrings from Net-a-Porter, a vintage Chanel necklace (which was a gift), and her signature Edie Parker bespoke clutch, with her name "Carrie" spelled out.
Needless to say, she caught the attention of the fashion paparazzi in Milan.
