Flappers in fringe and gangsters in fedoras filled Hermann Park stage for Urban Green Gatsby bash

Just in case you didn't step out in period costume for Urban Green's "The Green Gatsby" bash on stage at Miller Outdoor Theatre, no worries. Organizers provided loads of feather boas and faux fedoras for the '20s themed fundraiser that scored high as a fun-raiser.

Party chairs Lindley Arnoldy, Georgea Pappas, Elizabeth Spradling and Annina Stefanelli each donned glittering finery (think dazzling headbands and miles of pearls) to set the fashionable flapper tone of the night. This was another in the continuing series of high energy parties hosted by the young professionals group of the Hermann Park Conservancy.

With the 1974 version of The Great Gatsby screened overhead, a smoke machine casting gentle clouds of blue over the scene and the DJ spinning romantic tunes from the '20s, the 400 guests easily embraced the speakeasy vibe. A mirror ball spun above the dance floor casting rays of light across the sea of fringe and striped suits. Cute young things paraded across the stage in flapper dresses accessorized with fishnet stockings and stilettos. Ostrich plumes highlighted the kicky decor.

Stepping out in convincing '20s costuming were Hermann Park Conservancy executive director Doreen Stoller and Dan Piette and the conservancy's Eliza Wright in full flapper attire. The ever-creative Ann and Don Short, representing ROXOR Gin (for the popular Gin Rickeys), pulled costuming straight from their closets.

Grooving to the Green Gatsby theme were Brittany Sakowitz and Kevin Kushner, Jason Arnoldy, Lauren Clark, Annie Criner, Susie and Sanford Criner, Kristy and Chris Bradshaw, Jordan Emmott, Caroline Schiller and Max Barnett.
