The big day is here! Anthropologie launches its BHLDN collection as modern brides rejoice

By the end of Valentine’s eve, it’s likely more than a few women will have weddings on the brain. The timing was impeccable then, for the Monday launch of BHLDN, Anthropologie’s new bridal collection.

The much-anticipated offering of heirloom quality wedding gowns, bridesmaid frocks, party dresses, jewelry, headpieces, footwear and lingerie stays true to the Anthropologie aesthetic with whimsy and unexpected touches.

The concept is a playground for prospective brides to explore their own nuptial taste and will evolve to include decorations, such as candelabras, mouth-blown glassware, cake toppers, lanterns and do-it-yourself items. The new website site also gives tips on everything from the perfect bow to exactly what to look for in a wedding photographer. The spirit of each gown is captured online with detailed close ups and the ability for brides to pull together their most favorite tidbits with MyBHLDN moodboards.

Since the rule on wedding gowns are that there really are no rules anymore, the BHLDN dresses are short, long, ruffled, bohemian, sophisticated, many all white and some colorful. These are dresses for a thoroughly modern bride who appreciates a vintage look. Prices range from 1,000 to $4,000 for gowns, and $200 to $600 for event dresses and are designed by Anthropologie designers, as well as established and up-and-coming guest designers.

No dress is complete without the elegant details and BHLDN has enlisted artisans, ateliers and milliners, including James Coviello, Jennifer Behr, and Yestadt Millinery to craft feathers, tulle, and jewels into luxe headpieces. Designers Erickson Beamon, Katie Diamond, and Petra Domling add sparkle and shine to the jewelry collection.

The collection is online only for now, but the BHLDN reps stress that the company considers Houston a very important market and that city could be home to one of the locations set to open this summer.
