It looks like Melange Creperie is getting some competition in Rice Village.
Sweet Paris, an adorable "creperie and café" is coming to 2420 Rice Blvd., in a recombined space where Patu and Texadelphia used to be. The storefront boasts Provençal-inspired white brick and French steel doors.
Though there's still a "coming soon" sign in the window, Sweet Paris has posted pictures of crepes on its Facebook page, with ingredients that range from the traditional sweet (strawberry, Nutella) to savory (onion, tomato) and even the unexpected, like sprinkles and Reese's peanut butter cups.
According to the Facebook page,
"Sweet Paris Crêperie was lucky enough to create a menu with a team of incredible French chefs who hail from Alsace and Brittany, with years and years of culinary experience. Together we started experimenting in our crepe lab with non-traditional ingredients and recipes. The result was delicious! We pushed the boundaries of what a crepe can be, and we can’t wait to have you try our sweet experiments."
Rice Village once seemed to have a hub of Thai food between Patu, Thai Spice and Nit Noi. Now it seems to have a more continental bent, with Sweet Paris, Croissant Brioche and, um, La Madeleine.
What do you think? Are you excited about more crepes in Houston?
