Residents in Midtown were awakened by fire engine sirens early Wednesday morning as firefighters fought a massive blaze at Late Nite Pie at Tuam and Baldwin.
Channel 13 reports that the fire broke out around 3:45 a.m. Flames shot from the building as firefighters doused the building with water from two ladder trucks.
The restaurant was closed and it appears there were no injuries.
Streets surrounding the restaurant continued to be closed to traffic after 6 a.m. as firefighters controlled the fire, which at this point was reduced to smoldering clouds of black smoke. The roof had collapsed but the building's walls remain standing.
