Move over, Betty White: Dolly Parton is the superior sassy broad and Nicki Minaj knows it

Don't get me wrong, I love Betty White. Her Saturday Night Live episode will probably go down as one of the best of the decade, and there's nothing that makes me fear aging less than watching a 90-year-old lady still cracking people up and totally enjoying life.

And sure, White earned her own nationally-televised birthday special — Betty White's 90th Birthday: A Tribute to America's Golden Girl aired Monday night on NBC — but I'm even more excited about another diva-for-decades that is getting a turn in the spotlight.

Yes, Betty White may be Hot in Cleveland, but Dolly Parton is on fire.

 Dolly's signature style pretty much consists of sequins, fringe, shellacked-on makeup and a rack that Johnny Carson once offered a year's pay to get a peek at. 

Parton co-stars with Queen Latifah and Houstonian Angela Grovey in Joyful Noise, which opened last Friday. She wrote and performed several original songs in the movie, and rapped over Queen Latifah's beat box for Ann Curry on Today. She's even got a lyrical shout-out from Nicki Minaj, which is about as badass as you get.

It's hard to call Parton's recent buzz a comeback, since Parton (who turns 66 on Thursday) has never really taken a break. She recorded Backwoods Barbie on her own label in 2009, hitting No. 2 on the country album charts, and wrote more original music for 9 to 5: The Musical!, which was nominated for a record-setting slew of Drama Desk and Tony awards before it closed.

But while Betty White has that sassy grandma thing covered, Dolly has inspired slideshows of her signature style, which pretty much consists of sequins, fringe, shellacked-on makeup and a rack that Johnny Carson once offered a year's pay to get a peek at.

She isn't trendy, she isn't all-natural and she doesn't give a fuck. How can you not love a woman like that?
