The residents of Bergheim, a small town outside of San Antonio, might do well to take a cue from Antoine Dodson and keep their pets indoors: A young puma has "gone rogue," attacking four dogs in the past few weeks.

Shamus, a rescue dog, is recovering at a local veterinary clinic after his run-in with the 85-pound mountain lion — his wounds include scratches on his skull and throat. Three dogs haven't been so lucky, including a rat terrier that belonged to resident Tomie Barker.

"I mean, if it's preying on small animals, what's going to stop it from preying on small children?"

"What’s the next step? On the front porch when we walk out the door? I mean, if it's preying on small animals, what's going to stop it from preying on small children?" wonders Barker, who has watched helplessly as the puma has snatched three dogs out of her backyard over the past several weeks.

Barker's 3-year-old grandson and dachshund Nacho will play indoors until wildlife officials can get a handle on the cat.
