Actress and almost-Senate candidate Ashley Judd tweeted her regards to Memorial Hermann–Texas Medical Center early Wednesday, three days after her estranged husband Dario Franchitti fractured two vertebrae in a race car collision at the Houston Grand Prix.
Judd rushed to the side of the Indy 500 champ following the horrific Sunday crash, during which 13 spectators were injured by flying debris launched into the stands.
Very grateful for fine doctoring and helpful nursing across so many departments, & meals brought in from outside the hospital. Thank you!!— ashley judd (@AshleyJudd) October 9, 2013
Friends of the couple, who split in January, remain hopeful that the actress and race car driver can patch up their relationship after 11 years of marriage.
As soon as she learned of the accident on Sunday, Judd wrote on Twitter:
Thank you for the prayers for @dariofranchitti I have only clothes on my back & the dogs but that's all that we need & we are on our way.— ashley judd (@AshleyJudd) October 6, 2013
