Entertainment icon and Houston native Beyoncé is reportedly interested in buying a stake in the Houston Rockets. According to Bloomberg, Queen B, a huge basketball fan, is entertaining the idea of investing in our hometown NBA team.

In July, Rockets owner Les Alexander announced that he is looking for a potential buyer for the Rockets, which could sale for as much as $2 billion.

Alexander purchased the Houston Rockets for $85 million in 1993.

Beyoncé would join the ranks of several other celebrity sports team owners, including Justin Timberlake, who owns a share of the Memphis Grizzlies. And Venus Williams, her sister Serena Williams, and Jennifer Lopez all own part of football’s Miami Dolphins.

Beyoncé’s husband, Jay-Z, a Brooklyn native, once owned a small percentage of the New Jersey Nets. He sold his share after starting Roc Nation, which represents athletes. The couple have often been seen on the front row at Nets games.

Others who have expressed interest in owning a piece of the Rockets are Tilman Fertitta, Jim "Mattress Mack" McIngvale, and former Rockets great Yao Ming.
