Cullen Greer returned to Texas with a Louisiana souvenir better and larger than any snow globe. While fishing off the coast of Venice, La., the Houston man caught a whopper of a fish — a 297-pound Warsaw Grouper.

He told KHOU Ch. 11 that he it took him 30 minutes to reel in the gigantic fish, which measured 6-feet, 6-inches in height and 6 feet in girth. "We were all high-fiving each other afterwards," Greer said. "We knew it was a big one."

Pending verification, the catch is likely to be the third largest Warsaw caught using a hand crank and the fifth largest catch in state history.

Greer suggested to his fiancée that they serve grouper at their upcoming wedding. But the suggestion did not go over well, he said.
